Craig Chandler is a Calgary activist well known for his fringe views and tactics in electoral politics. Even Ann Coulter shunned Chandler when she visited Calgary.

Chandler  has found himself to be completely unelectable due to his past antics.
 
Rather than seeking election himself, Chander now is seeking power through proxy. He does so by backing and running candidates in numerous levels of politics from municipal, to provincial to federal. Candidates are invariably from a small list of followers in Craig's cult of personality. These people are described in more detail in the Chandler's List page on this site and are often referred to as Chandlerites here and elsewhere. Chandler also constantly spawns lobby groups which are essentially organizational fronts and fundraisers for his proxy candidates such as the Progressive Group for Independent Business and Concerned Christians Canada.

Chandler also messes around with internal party politics. Craig's nomination win with the Progressive Conservative Party made waves and headlines as much in Craig's win as it did in the PCs wise rejection of Chandler as a candidate. Chandler managed David Crutcher in the leadership race of the Alberta Alliance Party some years ago and managed Mark Dyrholm's more recent campaign for the leadership of the Wildrose Alliance Party. 

Dyrholm and Crutcher's leadership campaigns were both terrific failures and neither candidate even came close to winning the leadership of either party. Some may ask; "then why should I worry about Chanderites?". Well, unfortunately Chandler-managed campaigns always go into the dirt. Chandler goes into hysterical attack mode when he realizes that he is losing and the campaign for all goes off the rails as slander gets spread and lawsuits are threatened. This does a terrible disservice to the electorate and this trend needs to be exposed and ended.
